Keyboard Backlight Timeout

I have a Dell Latitude E7470 laptop, and cannot figure out how to adjust the keyboard's backlight settings.

The backlight turns off after a few seconds, and there is not an obvious fix for this.

Is there a solution for this?

Thanks.

    Hi AK474

There is no setting on a Dell for the timeout of the Keyboard back-light, just brightness settings, that is all Dell provide . . .

    HI AK,

If you click start, and type “mobility” does Windows Mobility Center pop up? If so, open it up. Do you have a customized by Dell section? See if you have a keyboard backlight setting area.

If no dice, I’ll do more digging and see if we can find a download from Dell.

    Let me know!

Hi AK. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

There are some good guides here for adjusting and troubleshooting Dell backlit keyboards:

    https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/l...

    https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/s...

Sometimes identifying the driver for this in Device manager to uninstall and restart PC to reinstall it can help. Make sure you also have the latest chipset and other drivers from Dell for the Service tag on your PC sticker from here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Produ...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
