How do I open WebCacheV01.dat?

Hi Microsoft,

I need help in viewing this computer's history. My son deleted his history after SOMETHING, so I need to recover it. I tried opening WebCacheV01.dat, but it's being used by Host Process for Windows Tasks. Is there any way to open this file, like force opening?

    Hi CloverPC ,

    You may be able to recover with 3rd party software, depending on the browser that was used. Most likely it will not be an easy task. You may want to check out Group Policy settings that will let you set a policy that will not let a user delete history. It will not be easy for a kid to figure out, unless they are savvier than you.
