Workflow function returns a different set of data depending on Trigger type

Question

Hello, I have been using the workflow() function to find information such as the name of the resource group that the running Logic app is in.

I'm able to get this information if I'm executing a scheduled trigger logic app or an http one that I manually run.

However, if I trigger an http logic app via an actual http call the workflow function output is different. Specifically the name of the resource group no longer shows up.

Does anyone know if this behavior is by design?
