Hi Team,

Have a quick  question across Engine Versions sub-parts mapping in Windows defender . When we say the version is  - 1.1.15100.1. Can you help me understand what does 15100 denote here. How can I extract the month , date , year and other specific components that ca help me classify the versions according to month , year or any specific component.

Thanks

Prachi

Hi Prachi12,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums

Windows Defender is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected and minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive.

It is a build version of Windows defender, it will not give you the information about the release date and the year. If you wish to see the windows defender versions installed based on month, year and date, Press windows & R > type appwiz.cpl > View installed updates> check for defender updates installed.

However, I suggest you to check if the Windows update version is 1809, you can refer this article to Check for operating system information in Windows 10. I also suggest you to refer this article on Definition updates for Windows Defender Antivirus and other Microsoft antimalware.

Hope it helps.

Regards,
