Hello,

windows 10 x64

Im trying to block the roxio burn.exe from a user running it. i tryied editing the reg but it doesnt work. using

computer\Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer

in explorer added 32bit word added DisallowRun (set to 1)

then added key in explorer called DisallowRun

then in DisallowRun added

value_string - 1

and typed in "Roxio Burn.exe"

Ive tried it with calc.exe and various other programs they still execute after restart.

have use GP editor to do the same and it doesnt work either.

any ideas.

Thanks, Matt

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

I really appreciate your effort in trying to fix the issue.

Is your device connected to domain network?

As you’ve already tried to fix the issue by changing the registry value and also by group policy editor, I would suggest you to post your query in TechNet forums, where we have a dedicated team of experts who are equipped with the resources to suggest you with the further steps to fix the issue.
