A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
- I've had this issue occur on a couple different Excel files when using the power pivot data model. I use a power query to summarize data from several other files and then add that query result to the data model. I then added DAX equations and additional columns to the model to perform summary calcs.
- In one instance I copied the file on the hard drive to backup in another location and upon opening, the data model was gone. In another, excel crashed (happens frequently with power query) and the data model disappeared.
- I'm using office 2016 professional plus 64 bit Excel version 16.0.4266.1001 on a Win10 machine.
- Office updates are controlled by IT department so can't update to latest or try another version without requesting an approved release. I did perform a "repair office".
Is there a way to get a debug trace for excel when it crashes to include in future requests?
