Question

I have been in contact with Clickonce Technologies for the past two days....They have said that they work for mircrosoft and I need two new security programs and asking me get a "gift card" to pay for their services.  I have never heard of giving a gift credit cart for payment.

...Is this a legit company under contract to Microsoft.

I'm disappointed with .."mark it"....In November I went to Microsoft ON LINE  for some help and these folks popped up and  got in between...

Others "may find it"....Very sorry Microsoft is not interested to get after these people.  This does reflect on the Microsoft assistance program..Help up ;your customers.

I don't know what link or phone number you used to contact these supposedly Microsoft people.

These so-called "Microsoft" Tech Companies either want to sell you worthless software, or gain Remote Access to your Computer to try and steal your Banking and Credit Card details and to also carry out an Identity Theft on you.

You are the only one who knows if you have given them Remote Access.

If you have given them Remote Access and if you do Internet Banking, contact your Bank, explain it to them and change Passwords.

If you use your Credit Card online, cancel it and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that you willl know that you are free of them is to save your Data and do a clean install of your Operating System.

And Microsoft does not contact you, unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do so.

I may need some help.  They worked on my computer yesterday and said they found that I need two security programs.  So they have been into my computer.  They are calling back about 7:00 CT to fix that and they will ask for the $$...I have not given them anything since last November when I had a similar problem and went in to Microsoft and these folks came up so I have them fix my microsoft for $168.00.

Do you any suggestions when they call back in a few hours.  And I guess I have been compromised since they have been into my computer.  Fortunate, I have no sense information in my microsoff programs.

Should I report this to the police?
