Mouse hover delay

Just had the April 2018 update forced on me. Mouse hover delay has disappeared. Now windows pop up milliseconds after I hover over them instead of a manageable half a second or so. Makes managing multiple windows a hair-trigger nightmare. How do I get my delay back?

    Thanks Greg

I will have a go at finding a way (there are some threads talking about modifying ActiveWndTrackTimeout)

The old way to fix it was to un-tick then re-tick the box for 'Activate window on hover'. But in the update, I can't find that box anymore.

I will persevere before I roll back

    Thanks

HI Pt. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP here to help you.

If this was caused by a Version Update then you can roll it in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool downloaded from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f2...

Then you can wait until Version 1903 Is released or block it the same way, too.

All ways to presently manage Updates here: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/manage-windows-up...

To troubleshoot the problem, go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

Does the same happen using another mouse or the touchpad?
