When you re-install Windows that should not affect your system activation ow Windows 10 licence, activation should be automatic once that PC is put on the Internet
Activation problems after re-installing Windows is generally because a different Edition (Home, Pro . . etc.) has been installed, that does not match the previously installed Edition
Open the Settings App, go to System - About
Does the Edition listed there match the previously installed Edition?

My name is Lee; an Independent Consultant, I'm here to help you with your problem.
You should be required to activate or change any product key upon re-installing but u need an active internet connection for your computer to authenticate with the activation server.
If you had to change your motherboard, you will require a new windows key as the digitial key is tied to the motherboard
Thanks

I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.
- If you had your Windows 10 license activated previously, you got a digital license. You will never need the product key again once you get digital license. Since, you have a digital license, hence when you do clean install, the license information is automatically picked up from Microsoft activation servers. Windows will activate your Windows license from this information.
Make sure the version installed is same as it was previous. For example, if it was Windows 10 Home, you need to install Windows 10 Home only not Windows 10 Pro. If at any point during installation it asks for the key, choose you will do it later on / skip.

- If above doesn't work, To analyze the cause, I need to verify whether it is OEM or Retail or Volume and other details, I need the screenshot of following output
Windows Key+X > Click on either Powershell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin)
Copy below and paste into Powershell / Cmd windows and Enter
slmgr.vbs /dlv
Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.

If the computer was activated there is no longer a need for a key.
If asked for a key just go to the bottom of the page and click on Skip, Do this later, or I do not have one.
