RuntimeBroker.exe Application error

A few times now I've been getting this message: "The instruction at 0x00007FFD077A680F referenced memory at 0x00007ffD078BE840. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000010. Clock on OK to terminate the program." and then the PC freezes, I can't click on anything, however, I can still move the arrow. Eventually the screen turns black but I can still use the arrow. Nothing else happens from that point and I have no choice but to turn the computer off by holding the power button.

What is wrong and what can I do?

Thanks!

    Hi Jenny,

I'm an Independent Advisor here to help.

Some people have reported that checking for an update or making a new user profile will fix it, from what I've looked around... but what I would recommend first is to do an in-place/repair upgrade using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

    Download it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

From there, select "Upgrade this PC now" and follow the prompts. This will take some time, but you shouldn't lose your data.

If you find that your computer acts in such a way it's not going to let you do it long enough, let me know. Good luck!
