new touchscreen driver will not migrate

I recently replaced the touchscreen on a Lenovo Yoga 710. It was manufactured by Lenovo, matched to the serial number to the computer. Upon boot-up or wake-up, the touchscreen does not work. It does not show up in Device Manager. But a 12C HID does show up, with the yellow warning icon. If I disable and then enable that device, then the touchscreen device appears in Device Manager and starts working. All is well, until the next time the computer goes to sleep or reboots.

The event log for the 12C HID  device reads "Device ACPI\SYNA06CB\4&35fab620&0 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match." For the touchscreen, the evenet log says, "Device HID\SYNA06CB&Col02\5&1c0770b5&3&0001 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match."

Thoughts?

Hi Gary. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP here to help you.

Update the touchscreen driver from Lenovo Support Downloads web page.

If the driver is not correct then identify the exact hardware ID following steps in this tutorial to search for the driver that way:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

I will help you do this as needed because you cannot depend on Windows Update to deliver needed drivers and must be absolutely certain the latest driver for that device is installed for it to work correctly

While there check that you also have the latest chipset, BIOS, display, network, bluetooth, USB and all other drivers, compared to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.

Other fixes presently working for touchscreen problems:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. If you'll wait to rate whether my post helped you, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
