2019 RDS with Azure AD / M365

Hi,

We have some Windows Server VMs in a hosted environment. These are not currently domain joined so people accessing them use a local account at present. I am looking to use RDS on one of these VMs, but also domain join it so users can login using the M635 credentials.

Is this going to work how I am expecting it to: direct Azure AD domain join (i.e. no on-premise AD) the Windows Server VM > add the RDS role > done?

Or are there other things to think about with the RDS role and AAD? We have M365 Basic and Standard for our users, so not a proper Domain Controller environment.

Thanks

    Hi @Lanky Doodle

    According to this article, it mentions only these 2 steps:

    1. Enable Azure AD DS;
    2. Set up RDS. You can either use an Azure template or deploy RDS manually.
