Ive just done a clean installation of windows from the settings/recovery panel as the PC is very slow & although it worked ok it is saying that it cant reach the activation servers to validate windows. I did exactly the same thing last week with wifes win10 PC with no problem. Any suggestions please. I doubt I would have the original disk as I believe this PC was an ex display model

Hi Mike, have that product key at hand and contact Microsoft Support and ask them to help you re-activate your Windows 10

    Call/Chat/Schedule a Call

    https://partner.support.services.microsoft.com/...

Or choose a local Phone Number:

I have found the activation key and entered it but still same response. Can I assume servers are down?

    Hi, Mike

My name is Phillip and I am an Independent Advisor. I hope it helps.

Check this link, there you will find a tool which provides the key to your Windows

    http://neosmart.net/OemKey/

Go to Settings - Update and Security - Activation

Try entering that product key there to activate Windows

Otherwise, have that product key at hand and contact Microsoft Support and ask them to help you re-activate your Windows 10

    Call/Chat/Schedule a Call

    https://partner.support.services.microsoft.com/...

Or choose a local Phone Number:

    Hi Mike,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

It might be related to an ongoing DNS issue for Microsoft services. Does the Windows update say "We cannot connect to the update service"?
