Sync Settings

Hi everyone,

I have questions about what kind of app data is synchronized with the Sync Settings function in my windows PC. Does Sync Settings send app data from the hidden AppData folder in my PC (Local, Local low, and Roaming folders) to OneDrive? Does it send settings and cache files from desktop programs and applications to my microsoft account and OneDrive? Does it send Universal Windows Apps information or just a list of Apps installed in my PC? I have restored my PC and I do not want any data from previously installed programs to be downloaded back again from my microsoft account when I log in to it.

You are quite welcome

It would synchronize app data from Microsoft store apps, Edge and IE only. And only if you had previously enabled this synchronizing.

Thank you for replying, I appreciate.

One of the reasons I asked these questions is because I have seen App Data listed in the very same list you helped me with. That is why I wonder whether it syncs any App Data from previously installed desktop apps and programs.

    Hi Dias

I am an independent adviser here to help.

Windows 10 sync settings does not synchronize the things that you have asked about.
It synchronizes things such as language preferences, passwords, and color themes, for a complete list of items that Windows 10 sync settings is able to synchronize please see the following Link

    https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/active-directo...

if you wish to delete the stored synchronization data, turn off sync settings on all of your connected Windows 10 devices. Then visit the following link

    https://account.microsoft.com/devices

Once logged in at the following link choose the option to remove cloud backup of personal Settings
