Hello,

I am currently a ASP.NET MVC Web Application Developer with 3 years of work experience and I got my Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification back in late 2019. I decided I was going to wait and see if I got the opportunity to get some actual work experience with Azure before tackling the second exam AZ-204 which is for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate.

Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity and do not want to wait anymore. The link to the certification (listed below) says I need one to two years of professional development experience with Azure. However is it possible for me to do the exam with 0 Azure experience? Is this experience necessary to even attempt the exam? Or is it just for the sake to improve our chances of passing the exam? I am open to work on side projects to practice the concepts, but would I qualify to take the exam?

Sorry if this is not the correct place to ask this question, if there is another spot to move this type of question please point me towards it. Thanks!

Microsoft Certification Program is supported on their own forums. I'd try asking for help with exam scheduling in dedicated forums here. (Participate\Ask A Question)
    Exams/Exam Registration/General Registration Questions
Exams /Exam Registration and Scheduling/Scheduling with Pearson Vue
    Pearson VUE Customer service
    Pearson VUE contact / chat

It is not necessary and mandatory that you should have specific year of experience to appear for exam. As you said its just that its good to have some experience that helps in passing the exam.
