Windows Update Error 0x80070005

This started happening last night; but whenever I try to install updates, I always get the "0x80070005" error. I've tried running the troubleshooter, but it always says that it "couldn't identify the problem." For precaution, I installed what I thought was the service pack I'm supposed to install (I believe it's the one labeled as KB4515383). Unless there was more than one service pack I'm supposed to install from there, the problem still persists.

Is there any way to fix this?

To find if it is 64bit or 32bit you can open control panel. Change the view to small or large icons if needed.

Open system. Then look under system where it says system type, it should say 64-bit operating system.

Almost all computers are 64bit now, which is why I assume those are the correct ones for you.

The updates don't necessarily have to say cumulative update part, that part just means it would also include any previous updates as well.

The parts that matter is that it says for Windows 10 and x64 (assuming your computer is 64 bit).

Okay. I just have a few more questions, and then I should be done:

I understand that you said that I would have to download the one that "corresponds to my system", and if it's "32bit or 64bit". I know how to check my computer's version (which is 1903), but how do I find out if it's 32bit or 64bit? I'm only asking so that I don't have to continually ask you which ones I should install that correspond to my system.

Come to think of it, for the patches I have to install do they all have to be specified as having "Cumulative Update for ... for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64[-based Systems]"?

    Oh, I gotcha.

The names of each of those are different, you would download the one that corresponds to your system and if it is 32bit or 64bit.

Most likely it would be the one named:

    2019-09 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64 (KB4514359)

Also if you install the cumulative update for 1903 (if it is not already installed) it should make sure many other updates are installed as well.

The correct one for you is most likely KB4515384

    Named:2019-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4515384)

I think I tried that this morning, but it didn't work. However, I think the best solution would be to download them manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog, just to save us all the convenience. But I want to know if there are certain ones to install, or if I should install all of them.

For example, I am on this page right here, which is for the update patch labeled KB4514359:

Once here, I don't know if there's a specific one I have to pick, or if I have to download all of them. Same goes for any other update patches that need to be installed.

I really appreciate your help on this. Thanks!
