Exporting Contacts

I added a large amount of contacts using Outlook Web Access (spectrum email). I finally was able to add the account to my Win 10 Mail app. I can't find any way to export my contacts (csv format) to import in either application!

There has to something better than retyping all my contacts in one at a time! Please help.

I doubt if you are posting in the correct forum.

The program you describe sounds like it might be Mail for Windows 10. So you might do better to post in a forum for that program.

This present forum is for Windows Live Mail 2011 or 2012. It is not an Outlook forum, for the Outlook email program. So the procedures for exporting contacts from the Windows Live Mail program wouldn't help you.

If you want to know, in Windows 7 the Windows Live Mail program appears to store its contacts in 2 folders -

    "C:\Users%UserName%\Contacts"

    "C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\Default"

(in a hidden system folder named "DBStore").

To export contacts from Windows Live Mail 2011:

      1. Open Windows Live Mail.

      2. In the lower-left corner, select "Contacts"

         (or press CTRL+3).

      3. On the ribbon ('Home' tab), click "Export".

      4. Select a file format in the drop-down menu:

         a. If exporting multiple contacts, select .csv

(comma separated values) to export them all

            to a single .csv file.

         b. If exporting only one or two contacts, select .vcf

(business card format) to export them as individual

            files.

      5. Click "Browse", then select a folder to save your contacts in.

      6. Type a file name, then click "Save".

      7. Click "Next", then select the check boxes next to the

fields to export. Only the fields selected are exported.

Select *all* the fields (scroll down to see all fields).

      8. Click "Finish".
