Hello, I was recently playing the new Gears 5 on PC when my pc BSOD. I have been able to get it to work for short amount of times but it will either BSOD with various errors generally related to memory management.

I have followed online guides about uninstalling recent programs or updates. I uninstalled Gears as well as any programs installed in the last week. I checked the microsoft update for updates(and uninstalled/ reinstalled one of the last ones). Nothing seems to fix it and sometimes trying to install things instantly crashes.

Currently I have a 1.5 year old Crucial CT1000MX500SSD1 and 6 month old 2 x 8GB G skill though I don't know the see the exact model in system information. Windows 10, B450 Auros Elite, and AMD 2600.

If anyone has any advice or recommendation I would greatly appreciate it.

I have followed the guide here to help with more information:

I think I got it, I will update if anything changes but it has been working mostly fine. I have restarted and it seems good for the most part. Windows Mail froze on me and Geforce Experience tells me to restart with an error message. It looks like something happened that messed up the timings or some function in my RAM.

I was getting web pages failing to load or failures after they had loaded in 4 browsers(brave, edge, chrome, and firefox). Also based on my error messages and the fact that I crashed usually when I tried to load things it was either hard drive or RAM. I updated my hard drive firmware via flash boot and it made no difference so started messing with RAM. I changed them out 1 by 1 and tried different slots. I either still got crashes or random glitches, such as losing 1 of 2 screens. Odd that both would fail simultaneously.

So I went into the bios with both in and reset to default. I had overclocked them when I first got them earlier this year and have had no problems until now. According to resource monitor Gears was using a large amount of VRAM as well as my onboard RAM and I think it messed it up somehow.

Browsers aren't bugging out and no BSOD yet. I haven't tried overclocking as of yet but its stable so I'm good for now. Idk if I would play gears again but we will see, not sure how it messed up my RAM.

    B. Third Party Drivers

    None

    C. Recommendations

    a. Create a system restore point first so that if something wrong happens you can revert.

Type restore point in Cortana Search > Create a Restore point > Check whether against your drive, Protection is ON or not. If not ON, click Configure button below to Make it ON > Now press Create to create a restore point

    b. Run Memtest for at least 8 passes (Do it overnight before going to bed)

    c. Some third party drivers are also causing BSODs. To know if a third party driver is one of the causes - Enable Driver Verifier and generate dump files and upload to Onedrive and share the link here (Don't forget to turn off Driver Verifier after the job is done). Do read the instructions carefully particularly how to get back into Windows when you get the crash.
