side by side configuration

I treid downloading Microsoft flight simulator x: steam edition and when I went to install it I got an error "the application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect". ive tried just about everything to fix this even contacting Microsoft support and nothing .

    it didn't work I noticed I was missing the 2005 c++ but when I went to go download that I got a error 1935 code which means ones of the files trying to be downloaded is corrupted but I got the link off the Microsoft website

    Hi George, I'm Bill.

    These errors are usually caused by a conflict in your PC's C++ runtime libraries, so I'd recommend downloading and installing the latest version. Here's a download link:

    Once you've installed the latest version, reboot the PC and see if the game works. Let me know how you go! Thanks!
