Julian,
Thanks for this but I have already tried all these suggestions to no avail, I am not sure how this happened but it is proving difficult to undo!

My desktop always logs in linked to the proxy server http=127.0.0.1:7070;https=127.0.0.1:7070. I have tried everything I know including registry changes to stop this. Any ideas how I can prevent it happening?

Hi Patrick Rowney,
As well as the registry changed as recommend from this video :
I would run this third party program
* https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
They have always worked for me, but as a disclaimer we cant be held accountable for third party websites, Ensure data is always backup before performing any virus removal.
Let us know if i can be of further help.
Thanks
