Window Update Failures

Greetings Community,

This is the 3rd month in a row that I have had "Windows Cumulative update" errors. On the the last one I ended up having to perform a clean install of Windows 10. This is getting old and it takes hours upon hours to do a clean restore my PC. Is this going to happen on each and every update ?

Here is a breakdown of the two Windows Update Event errors that I am getting. And by the way, The Win update Troubleshooting app did not find any problems when I ran it.

    Greetings Jeff,

I have found [a] solution from another community member who had given me instruction on how to properly perform a Clean Install.

So far, everything is working great that didn't before I performed the clean install, with the exception of a couple of details that don't really have any affect(s) on the operation and performance of Windows 10, plus some added new interesting features in v1909.

Here is the link if you care to approach the suggestion, It worked for me a

Let me know if you do, and the best of luck !

You should go to the Norton site and get their removal tool and completely get rid of Norton.

You only need Windows Defender and Malwarebytes.

Hi, I'm David an independent advisor and user just like you. I'll do my best to help you with this.

It's giving you the error code "0x800F0982" near the top of that information. There's a known problem related to the April 2019 update KB4493509 when this error can occur.

Now, I see you're actually having trouble installing newer updates than that, but I wonder whether the same language-pack troubleshooting might help? Have a look at the last "known issue" listed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/449350...

    Regards,

    David

    Lacrumb,

Thanks very kindly for your reply and willingness to assist. My operating build is listed above in the errors as:

    >>> Faulting application name: wuauclt.exe, version: 10.0.18362.449, time stamp: 0xb8640219<<<

I am running Norton Security provided by my ISP: Xfinity

I also run CCleaner by Piriform, but only for cleaning the log files (??????), and from bad past experience, I NEVER use any registry cleaners

    Kind regards and thanks again,

    indyiceman

Any 3rd party anti virus, security, cleanup programs ever installed on the computer?

What OS build are you on?  Hit the Windows key, type winver, hit Enter.

    Or Windows key+r, winver, OK
