Hello everybody,

at a customer's site, there is DPM 2019 backing up a Windows Server 2019 file server. One drive consistently fails when synchronizing with the following error:

My own translation:

Error while synchronizing F:\
Error 2033 : Error while executing an action for \?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy165\Benutzer\Administrator\ auf FILE2019.(domain).local.
Error details: The process cannot access the file because it is used by another process (0x80070020)

Rebooting both the file server and the DPM server did not help. There are no anti-virus programs installed besides the default Windows Defender. All servers are running Windows Server 2019 and are current on patches.

Does anybody have a tip for me? Thanks!

Best Regards,
Stefan Falk

    Hi,

Thanks for posting on the forum, it seems the issue is DPM related, however, the backup forum is more related to Windows Server backup tool and vss services, and after research, it seems the dedicated DPM forum has been closed. In order to get better help about DPM, it's recommnended to contact MS to check if you can open a case for DPM support. Thanks for your understanding!

Below is the link of the phone to contact MS support:

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
