    Hi Dycool2,

You will definitely encounter an issue if you will directly move a certain program from C to D, due to file path would be different and it will cause a big problem running certain services and data files of the game.

What can I advise is to freshly install the game on the drive that you wanted to transfer it into.

Or you can visit this site for further suggestions:

Depending on the game and if it is disc based (best chance) or from Steam or similar game site you may be able to run the game

if you make a new shortcut from the games executable (.exe) file in the games folder.

I have done this with several game in the past to experiment with loading speed difference between HDD and SSD.

However, if you want to uninstall the game in future you would need to move it back to the original location or

it will not uninstall due to the changed file path.

Another option in this instance is to locate the games Registry keys and alter the file path in the appropriate key to

    suit the new location.

Games are becoming increasingly huge so the best thing to do with games is never install them in the default Program Files (x86) location.

Install them on a large Partition or another large HDD\SSD.  Minimum 1TB if you have, or plan on having a lot of games.

Keep C:\ lean and clean on an SSD or Partition no smaller than 120GB and you will have few issues with disk management.

Another benefit to keeping game on another HDD\SSD is if you do come up short using a 1TB drive you can simply copy the games

to another larger drive. Just use the same drive letter on the new games drive.

As long as you are still using the same Windows install on C:\ the Registry keys will still be intact and the file path will match.

With very rare exceptions, you can not simply move a program from one location to another. That's because despite its .exe file the program has other components and pointers to it in \Windows and other locations. Move the program and everything else missing or pointing to the wrong place.

Move the program back, uninstall it, then reinstall it to the D: drive.
