There are several endpoint of Azure synapse database. I add the following private endpoint .
1.
I have a machine which has vpn gateway to azure . And at that machine I tried to access the Azure synapse workspace , however , I was not able to view the On-demand sql database, however on the same machine , when I use SSMS , it is able to view it (I force SSMS to use private link address to access to sql ondemand pool).

I just want to clarify when going to On-Demand sql pool using Synapse workspace , which address it is using to access. ?

Can you share the base address you are trying to use for connecting to the private link endpoints? The links are different based on what you are trying to access:
- privatelink.azuresynapse.net is for Azure Synapse Analytics Studio gateway.
- privatelink.sql.azuresynapse.net is for sql query execution in SQL pool and built-in pool.
- privatelink.dev.azuresynapse.net is for everything else inside Azure Synapse Analytics Studio workspaces.
- privatelink.dfs.core.windows.net is for the private endpoint of accessing workspace linked Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- privatelink.blob.core.windows.net is for the private endpoint of accessing workspace linked Azure Blob Storage.
