Windows 10 doesn t recognize ethernet cable

I've recently upgraded from win7 to win10, and it says cable is unplugged or broken now, but it was working perfectly fine right before the update. Tried resetting the network settings, and updating the driver automatically with windows by using USB tethering to the last version, still not working. Used half and full duplex settings. The cable just won t be recognized

The driver is Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V

    Hi mosteanudragos,

turn off the router and disconnect the network cable from both sides, turn the router on again, reconnect the network cable and restart the PC. If the problem persists, try to restore the previous driver:

Device management> network adapters, select your network adapter in use> Driver tab> Roll back driver.

I managed to fix it, it was apparently the cable thought I still completely can t understand how it was working 30 mins ago and then not anymore (used a cable tester on it as well and it was fine, all ends)
