Hello.

Recently I discoverd that my pc (desktop) hasen't been updated since mid october for some reason. I tried to update it and I got the 0x80080005 error.

Looking it up brought me to this page which has a solution:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-update-error-0x80080005/07b6e544-a501-4492-851d-83fcb80e8f2f

And I tried it twice and it didn't work. from what I remember - while trying to stop wuauserv and msiserver it would say that the services aren't running so there's nothing to be stopped.

I tried running the troubleshooter as well and it didn't help.

Windows 10 home 1903.

    Hi Itayo,

it should take a while. Wait until it goes back to C:\ then you can run the sfc /scannow

    Hi ItayO,

You can try steps below to fix registry errors.

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, right click the Windows button, and then select Command Prompt (Admin). If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow or Yes.
    2. Type the following command, and then press Enter.

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    • Note It might take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.
    1. Type the following command and press Enter.

    sfc /scannow

    • Note It might take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.
    1. Close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.

Let me know how it works for you.

Hi, the first command is stuck on 100% for some time now. is it suppose to take this long? I did it as soon as you replied.
