Hi all

I use windows 10 and Windows Photo Viewer (WPV) as my photo viewer application

The WPV is working fine, but every webp image that I open become much darker than the original.

In the desktop thumbnails, the image is showing true colors, but when opened in WPV is becoming dark (you can see the comparisons in picture below)

(this is the thumbnails view)

(this is when opened with WPV)

I already tried to download webp codec (as many website recommended), but its not working at all. the image is still dark.

Can everybody give me a suggestion? I really need help. Thanks!

PS: I installed irfanviewer as photo viewer apps, and the webp file is showing fine, the image is not becoming darker.

But I really comfortable with using WPV, so I hope to use WPV as my default apps to open webp file.

Hello, my name is Arif Ahmed, Windows Advisor.

I would be happy to help you.

I believe this is a photo rendering issue. If the webp images are rendered this way in WPV then there is little we can do. But I would suggest you to kindly open these webp images at another app save as another format which is perfectly rendered in WPV.
