Disabling ctrl alt characters

Hello Microsoft community,

I have never had this problem until today when I did a fresh install of Windows 10. A lot of programs I use for development have ctrl alt shortcuts, for some reason some of the keys do not toggle the shortcuts I have bound to them. Upon further investigation inside my keyboard layout I see these keys when I press "Ctrl and Alt"

I am currently using the English (United Kingdom) Keyboard, any help to resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

    Hello DaveM121

My 2 key has the " symbol and my 3 key has the £ symbol.

My issue is more about disabling the characters when I press ctrl and alt

    Hi rossiscool123

I see a Euro symbol on that keyboard, that is unusual on a UK English keyboard . . .

On your physical keyboard, what symbols are above the numbers 2 and 3?
