Hi so I recently got a Realtek 8812BU wifi adapter and I'm having troubles connecting with the 5ghz wifi. The 2.4ghz is working fine but whenever I connect to the 5ghz it disconnects while I'm downloading something or speed testing it.

    Hi,

Please try to run System File Checker. Follow the steps below.

    1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then select Yes.
    2. Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"), and then press Enter. (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)
    3. After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully," type sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/") and press Enter.
    4. After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit.

    I hope it helps.

    Hi Cyarnz,

Do you have any other device that also connects to your 5ghz wifi?

Is it also experiencing the issue?

I'll be waiting for your response. Thanks.

My phone also uses the 5ghz wifi and never encounters any problem with it.

    Hi Cyarnz,

I'm Paul, a Microsoft Community Member. I hope I can help you with your concern.

    Try the following solutions below.

-Please make sure that your Wifi Adapter driver is updated.

-Uninstall and Reinstall the Wifi Adapter driver.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Thanks for a quick response. Windows tells me that I've the latest drivers installed but honestly it's quite hard to find any drivers for my adapter. I also did reinstall the wifi adapter but nothing changed.
