For years through many versions of windows I never had to deal with this issue until the recent update.  I like to see all of  my sub folders listed first, then the files in a folder.  How do I get that to happen.  I mostly use list and thumbnail in my folder listings.

Hi chzuck

Generally Windows 10 will order a folder with sub-folders first, then files . . .

Open a folder of files, on the View Ribbon, in the layout section, set view to Details and on the View Ribbon, make sure Group By is set to None

Then click on the Name column header so that arrow faces up to order the files alphabetically

Then set your view to either List or Thumbnails . . .

Does that result in your preferred view?

I thank you much.  That is what I wanted and what I had.  I think the last Windows 10 update changed the setup.
