I found out in https://www.dell.com/support/home/ph/en/phbsd1/... that Dell Precision M6400 audio driver is not supported in Windows 10.
But you can still use it by installing it in Compatibility mode.
To reinstall the device driver please follow the following steps.

Built in speaker only...system is a Dell Precision M6400 with Windows 10 home edition v1903. Audio stopped after install of update in February. Have read the update caused audio problems. Unable to 'restore' previous version. I'm a writer not a technical specialist...thx for your reply and any help you have. -Andrew
