No Bitlocker Key and cannot reset

After not using my Surface Pro for awhile I booted it up. It was slow and I was not in the mood to try and fix the issue so I put it off for another day. Today I turn it on and bitlocker wants a recovery key. I tried all of my Microsoft accounts and I could not find the recovery key. I then thought I can just reset the Surface Pro since I do not have many files on there but it then said that there was a problem with resetting the computer. It forever puts me in the loop of having bitlocker lock my Surface Pro. What do I do.

    Hello Ian Flores,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with BitLocker.

If you don't have the BitLocker recovery key, you may be able to retrieve it by following the steps in Finding your BitLocker recovery key in Windows - Microsoft Support.

    Important:

    • If you are unable to locate the BitLocker recovery key and can't revert any configuration change that might have caused it to be required, you’ll need to reset your device using one of the Windows recovery options. Resetting your device will remove all of your files.
    • Microsoft support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,

    Lei
