Windows Update Causing BSOD

Hello.

Over the past couple days my computer has been forcefully updating Windows overnight to KB4537572 and causing a BSOD with the Kernel_Mode_Heap_Corruption error. I know this specific update is the cause for it because I have taken pictures to test my prediction.

I'm able to correct it by backdating the system to 4/27 (when it all started), but it is getting frustrating having to do this every motning, taking away from University lectures and work.

I'm currently using my phone to make this post as the computer is still in the recovery process.

Is there any way for me to fix this update error or to stop it from updating without my permission?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues with Blue Screen on your PC after installing KB4537572 update, and I certainly appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

As you have mentioned it is hampering your university lectures and work, you may want to perform Hardware Clean Boot on your PC, and see if that helps.

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
    2. In Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
    3. Now expand the Display adaptersPrintersSound, video and game controllers.
    4. Now right click on the Device inside the section and click on Disable.
    5. If asked for restart click on restart later and disable all the drivers.
    6. Close the device manager window.

In addition, if you want to continue working on your computer and would like to troubleshoot on this at a later time, you can temporarily hide the update. Refer the article How to temporarily prevent a Windows Update from reinstalling in Windows 10

However, to analyze the root cause of the issue we need the Mini Dump file that is located in C:\Windows\MiniDump folder. Please share the files through OneDrive.

Let us know how it goes.
