Migrate existing DHCP Failover Cluster to new Hardware

Hi!

I need to migrate an existing 2 Node Failover Cluster (2012 R2) to new Hardware. The Cluster is hosting DHCP role.
I've setup 2 new Nodes with Server 2016, installed all required Roles and added them to the existing Cluster.

My Question now is, are there any additional configuration steps required for the new Nodes to host the DHCP role? Do I need to authorize DHCP on the new Nodes in the post-install configuration or skip it?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting in our Q&A platform.

    If your DHCP server is a domain joined server, authorization must occur as part of an Active Directory domain. If you do not authorize the DHCP server in the Active Directory domain, the DHCP service will fail to start properly, and then the DHCP server will not be able to support requests from DHCP clients.

    Authorization must occur before a DHCP server can issue leases to DHCP clients. Requiring authorization of the DHCP servers prevents unauthorized DHCP servers from offering potentially invalid IP addresses to clients.

    Thanks for your answer.
    Are you sure that I need to authorize DHCP on every single node of the Failover Cluster? At the moment only the Clustered DHCP Role is listed in authorized Servers, not the nodes...
