Hello,

A couple of issues are recurring with my PC including:

  1. Random hangs/freezes - Screen will freeze and computer will stop receiving input + any audio playing will also freeze and buzz continuously until the computer is forcibly shutdown by holding the power button for 5 seconds.
  2. The displays will stutter - program' window's topbars will flash as well as other graphics on the screen
  3. Lag which disables input while it is lagging

What I have tried:

  1. New installation of windows
  2. New SSD for OS
  3. New PSU
  4. CPU Cooling fan
  5. Updating graphics drives
  6. Updating windows

How do I update the BIOS with the .CAP filetype that it let me download?

Turn off fast start. Check PC (motherboard) manufacturer's site for updated BIOS.

Try to repair system files by

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

command from Windows PowerShell (administrator) environment.

Check if there are firmware updates for SSD.

A recurring Kernel-Power error is the following: "The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S4). This can result in reduced resume performance."

However, these power errors are not occurring at the time that the freezes happen, in fact the only error occurring at the time are the Critical error (which indicates to me when I am shutting down the PC): "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." which I believe is a result of my forcibly shutting down the computer.

I am also afraid that with even older graphic drivers may not be the solution as this has been an issue for years.

Here is the system log.evtx file and the reliability history if you wish to view them yourself, it would be greatly appreciated. The history is short because I recently performed a complete reset of my computer.

    Hi,

please try to install more old graphic driver. Clean graphic card cooling system from dust. Check system journal (Event Viewer) for possible errors at these moments, especially Kernel-Power errors. DistributedCOM errors should be ignored.

Or save system journal to evtx file and share it to OneDrive for analysis.
