Ive removed the network driver and restarted. No change.

I’ve restored windows. No change.

I had this with a old Toshiba laptop ( 6 Years old) I found that I could get it working for a few days by rolling back the driver BUT the pesky microsoft update would then overwrite it. It appears Microsoft has a pact with hardware companies to brick older machines by knocking out various hardware like network and Wfi devices with unworkable driver files.

I fund this out when I brought a USB network and WiFi dongle from a small shop and the guy behind the counter said he sold a lot of them after the last major update so I was not alone. Sneaky Microsoft!!!!

    Hello NicolaRichardson2,

Sorry if the above steps did not worked for you. Another option is if we have another Device that we can download the Driver/Firmware of your Surface pro it could really help us efficiently by saving it to a thumb drive and transferring it over to the affected Device.

You can download the driver/firmware using this URL and transfer it over to a thumb drive. Make sure to choose your specific Surface Pro Model.

RE point 2:  I’m unable to download the latest manufacturer’s adapter driver as I have no connectivity. I have un-installed the faulty driver and restarted machine but still faulty.

    Hello NicolaRichardson2,

My Name is Paul one of the Community Expert and a Windows User like you. I do apologize that yo are having issues with your Surface pro that there's a Network Failure. Lets try to run some triage and try to resolve the issue.

    Step 1: Internet Connection Troubleshooter

    * Click Start and Search and Open Control Panel.

    * Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

    * Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

    * Run and Execute the Internet Connection Troubleshooter.

Step 2: Uninstall and Device Driver and Install the latest firmware updates.

    * Click Start and search for Device Manager (Open as Admin)

    * On the left pane locate “Network Adapter” and expand by clicking on it.

    * Right on the “Wireless adapter” option and click “Uninstall’

    * Download the latest Wireless network adapter driver setup file from the manufacturer’s website and install it.

If the above steps did not resolve the issue your reply is very important for me to recommend other steps.
