Nokia E63 Network Unlocking
Hello, I bought a nokia e63 from ebay in 2009 and have been using it on and off and still use it. Its locked to vodafone. Recently i wanted to use my gomo sim in it but it would not accept it so i obtained 2 unlock codes and tried to enter them. I used the correct sequence, no problem there, but the error was not incorrect code but Not Allowed. I googled this and apparently with the e63 if someone has entered the incorrect code 3 times it then says Not Allowed when you try again. So it looks like to me (and i am a total amateur at this) that the previous owner has tried to unlock but failed. What i would like to do is reset the 3 attempts and try my unlock codes, which are for voda ireland. This phone may have originated in northern ireland so it could be voda uk, another complication.
Will a phone reset allow me to enter my lock code and see if it works? Im assuming not that would be too easy thing to do. I think with older phones they should auto unlock, unlocking phones is tough it seems, voda in particular seem to make it as difficult as possible to do this, one of the reasons i am leaving them never to return!
Any ideas?

https://www.mobifreedom.net/unlocking-instructions-for-nokia-e63_3
If you require Vodafone UK codes instead, probably cheaper to SIM unlock using codes obtained via brute force method as here:
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-5232/faq/faq/how-to-read-hash-nokia-sl3/
If you search Ebay for Nokia SL3 unlock code, it is only a couple of €
If I was you perhaps only try once with your existing code leaving scope to input brute force one later, however once 3 keyboard and 3 USB software attempts have been used up it does require specialised tools to reset these counters.
Back in Nokia era upon this forum I could have communicated with you personally to address any issues, but those days are long gone.
