    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand the difficulties you are facing in accessing the folders on your PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • What is the Windows 10 Version and Build currently installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • Are you logged in to the PC using Administrator account?
    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these methods and check if that helps.

Method 1: Permission to the folder

    1. Open File Explorer and go to c:/windows.
    2. Right-click on the Prefetch folder which you’re unable to access and select Properties.
    3. Click on Security tab from the top and under Group or user names click on Edit.
    4. Now click on Add and type everyone.
    5. Click on Check names and click OK.
    6. Select everyone and under Allow select Full control.
    7. Click on Apply and Ok.

Also refer the suggestion as mention in this article for Windows 8, as it holds good for Windows 10: "Access Denied" or other errors when you access or work with files and folders in Windows
