How do I disable R language extensions? The log4j indicates that this is occupying a significant portion of my cluster initialization (possibly up to 10 seconds).
This should be an opt-in. Of all the spark customers, probably only a small percentage use the R language (over Python, Scala, C#).

@David Beavon sorry for the delay. I am still waiting for products team response as they are still investigating and working with databricks team internally if this is possible. I will update you as soon as I have any latest updates.
@David Beavon We have received confirmation from Databricks team that currently we do not have a way to disable R language on a Databricks cluster. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
