There are number of conditions where you might be able to recover your BitLocker key (like if it has been stored in the Active Directory), take a look at:

However, if the key is missing and you don't have any backup, nothing else could be done.

In your Microsoft account, On a printout you saved, On a USB flash drive, when you enable BitLocker you have three options to keep recovery key.
