Hello Team, I have a lot docs in storage account file share services. How do we set the retention policy in those docs along with the notification? E.x : From the upload date, I want to send the notification to end use saying that in 2 weeks the document will be deleted. So how do I set up those kind of notification and how to delete the actual documents based on the retention period? Thanks.

Thanks Vaibhav. Does this storage-lifecycle-management-concepts applies to blob (Containers) storage only or It applies to file shares in the storage account as well? Thanks.

Thanks for raising this question! Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding here and any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

We plan to add tiering in the future, although I don’t have an ETA for this feature. Currently, we’re working on it. However you can share your feedback here. If you wish you may leave your feedback here All the feedback you share in these forums
will be monitored and reviewed by the Microsoft engineering teams responsible for building Azure.

There’s a storage logging feature that’s currently in preview that can be used to monitor read, write and delete operations.

    To learn more, see: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/monitor-storage?tabs=azure-powershell#logs-in-azure-monitor-preview

It would be good to evaluate this feature and let us know if it meets your needs.

If you’re interested in joining the preview, please complete the following form: https://forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbRxW65f1VQyNCuBHMIMBV8qlUM0E0MFdPRFpOVTRYVklDSE1WUTcyTVAwOC4u

Use Azure Monitor to view metrics and to configure alerts for sync, cloud tiering, and server connectivity.

Workaround: Please refer to this SO thread.

    Hope this helps!
