Hello all,
so far I used Teams under Debian GNU/Linux 10 ("buster") without big problems. I only use packages from "stable", no "testing" or "unstable".
There was an update to Debian Release 10. and in addition there was also an update to MS Teams version 1.4.00.7556.
With this update of Teams the program does not start correctly any more. The login window appears to fill in the email address, but without typing anything the login windows closes again after about 5s.
In /var/log/syslog there is an entry: segfault at 208 ip 000055b730a16903 sp 00007ffe2ca44b20 error 4 in teams
After rebooting and starting Teams again via a terminal the same behavior occurs, beside there is no entry in /var/log/syslog. But the terminal window shows the following error message: The futex facility returned an unexpected error code.
To solve the problem I downgraded teams with the root command apt-get install teams=1.4.00.4855
With this older version teams starts again. In addition I changed /etc/apt/sources.list.d/teams.list not to install the update again. Now I have to check for newer versions manually by looking at https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/ms-teams/pool/main/t/teams/ for .deb file.
Is this a known bug that will be fixed soon?

To determine if this issue is related to system or device, please reproduce the steps in other Debian GNU/Linux 10 machine.
Due to resource limitation, we only tested this Teams version on Unbuntu 20.04 and RHEL 8. Both of them works well.
I also checked the known issue of Teams for Linux but did not find any update about it.
We will do further investigation about it and will inform you if there is any update.

according to your advice I tried another machine.
The two machines contain both Debian GNU/Linux 10.9 released on March, 27th, one is a Laptop, the other one is a Desktop PC.
Due to different hardware I use
I updates Teams on the laptop as well now and the program starts as usual. I could log in and everything seems to be ok.
As there are additional security updates within Debian GNU/Linux 10.9 ("buster"), I have to update these now as well. And on the laptop Teams still works as expected.
Could you give me additional information what to check to get the new Teams version running also on my desktop PC.

We did check this and we don't see issues locally, also we see in telemetry users on Debian 10.9, so it doesn't seem to be issue with that OS, but maybe some local setup?
In this case, we firstly recommend you clear your client cache by the following command:
1.Cache folder on Linux
~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft\ Teams\ -\ Insiders
2.To remove cache folder
rm -r ~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft\ Teams\ -\ Insiders
It has been a while, how is everything going?
