Storage Spaces vs Disk Management Mirroring - Resync question

I currently have a 10TB Raid 1 (WD Red disks) setup via Disk Management. Had it for years, but it has a nasty habit of resyncing every time I make slight alterations to the server (just changing a fan, or removing a wifi card, will make it resync). A resync takes almost a full day, is quite noisy and noticeably reduces performance. Currently I am troubleshooting a very annoying hardware issue which would probably cause 4 or 5 resyncs if I keep the mirrored volume.

So if I dissolved the mirror and created a storage space instead, with redundancy, effectively making it the exact same setup I have now - would it still behave in the same way, or would it be more lenient with hardware changes and such?

Also, would the drives be easily readable if say my boot disk crashed, forcing an OS reinstall?

    Hi,

From some performance comparisons, the storage space showed slightly improved performance compared to the RAID group, so we may try to use Storage space instead of RAID.

Besides, Storage Spaces records information about pools and storage spaces on the physical disks that compose the storage pool. Therefore, your pool and storage spaces are preserved when you move an entire storage pool and its physical disks from one computer to another.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne
