Hi experts,

I have 2 users of Outlook 2019 connected to Exchange 2016 on-prem server. both having issues download address book:

Outlook 2019 >send/receive menu >send/receive groups>download address book error – task reported error 0x8004010F the operation failed. An object cannot be found.

I tried a few steps - disable the add-in of Mcafee, run outlook /safe, both not working.

May I know what other things I can check? on outlook or the exchange server.

thanks for your time.

    Hi @Pingatwork ,

    Please also try these:

    1. Recreate the Outlook profile: https://www.msoutlookware.com/basic-tips/introduction-of-outlook-profile.html
    2. Hold CTRL and right click Outlook icon, and Test Email Autoconfiguration, use autodiscover to check if the URLs are correct.

    3. Run the first cmdlet to check if the OAB has been tagged to the database, if it's blank, that means you're using the default OAB. Get-MailboxDatabase | Ft Name, book
    4. Update the OAB and check if it's successfully updated, check the Event Viewer for Event 17001 and 17002, then navigate to%ExchangeInstallPath%\ClientAccess\OAB\<ObjectGuid> and check the files are recently created. Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressBook
    5. Restart Exchange server and then try manually downloading OAB.
    6. If that doesn't help, try creating a new OAB and assign it to the database. Use the Exchange Management Shell to create offline address books
