    Hi @Salmon, Ron ,

    Welcome!

Is this greyed out problem that has only recently occurred? If so, what specific operations did you do before this problem occurred?

I researched a lot about this kind of issue and found some related information. In order to further confirm your issue, please try the following suggestions and see if the issue has any difference:

    1. There could be some add-ins in your Outlook client that cause this issue, so it is suggested to start your Outlook in safe mode (Press Win + R, type “outlook /safe”, press Enter.) and see if the issue continues.
    2. Custom view settings may cause this problem as well. To remove all customizations to the view, please try to reset your view settings via View > Current View > Reset View or you can run the /cleanviews command (Press Win + R, type “Outlook.exe /cleanviews”, press Enter) and see if there is any difference. Notice: Remember to back up your view settings firstly before operating.
    3. If the issue still continues, I'm afraid there might be something wrong with your Outlook profile. Please try the steps below to restore Outlook to its original state and see if your issue could be resolved:
Exit Outlook and open the Registry Editor
      Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0
      Right-click the Outlook folder
      Rename it as Outlook1
Restart your Outlook and add your email account to test
(Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.)

    Hope this can be helpful.
