1.Where did you get the certificate, from internal CA or third-party CA?
2.How did you encrypt files with certificate? Can you share some pictures and screenshots?
Can't decrypt file even though I have the certificate imported

Hi, so I've just reinstalled my windows 10 due to slow performance and I have encrypted files in my external drive with the certificate as well. Thing is, I have imported the certificate successfully. Yet, I still can't decrypt my files. I have tried changing the owner of the folder (which is where the files are located) to Everyone as seen on other discussions, and still not work.

Then, the certification is this kind
when the first time I encrypted the files, it prompted me to make a certificate and the rest is the same process as it should be. The only thing I am aware of is because I refreshed my windows and the user changed. But since I have the certificate in my other drive (which is located with the encrypted files too) it should be okay.

In order to ensure you can always access encrypted files, Windows allows a DRA to be created. A DRA is anther user that can access any files encrypted. This video looks at how the encrypted file system works and how to configure a DRA.
