Hi

I need to receive an encrypted file from a third party supplier. I purchased a Certificate from DigiCert and installed into Outlook with DigiCert support help. We are using Office 365 but this setup is only required for one user who always receives the encrypted file

The organisation sent me an email that had a Yellow Triangle with a RED exclamation mark at signature. I clicked on this and selected to trust. The Email now shows a Red rosette and when i expand the message the security properties window shows all show green ticks.

I replied to this message using SIGN option in Outlook.

I was then sent an email with the encrypted file as an attachment but i am unable to open this.

When i try to open this email i get a window saying "..........Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system"

Can anyone help to resolve this issue

Thanks

john

    Hi @johnk ,

Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system

Did this issue occur with a specific user on speicific client only? Could it be reproduced on other outlook client? Could it work normally if you send an encrypted message to others in Outlook?

For the error itself, I have researched a lot about it and found the issue may be related to your certificate configuration, in order to first confirm if you have configured your certificate successfully and choose the right setting(File>Options>Trust center>Trust center settings>Email security)

If you have checked that and the issue still exists there, based on my research, I found a related thread, which mentioned some detailed steps to re-configure your certificate and many users told it was helpful to them, please kindly check if Nathan James Heinz's post could also work for you: Your Digital Id Name Cannot Be Found By The Underlying Security.

Hope that would be helpful to you.

    Hi

Only the user called dwpfile has this set up in outlook on their PC as only they need to receive the encrypted file. User dwpfile does not have to send anything encrypted to our supplier they only need to receive a file.

I will read the post from Nathan James Heinz and update this thread

Here is the dwpfile settings in File>Options>Trust center>Trust center settings>Email security
