As per Microsoft documentation, Teams chats for a user are stored in user's mailbox; when a user is placed on hold, all messages are retained. Is it possible to place the mailbox oh hold, but exclude Teams messages from it, if my company does not care to retain Teams messages?

Hi Jimmy. I think the problem its that even with a Teams retention policy set, having a user's mailbox in litigation hold nullifies said retention policy. For example, if my mailbox is configured with litigation hold for 5 years but I have a Teams message retention policy to delete messages after 30 days the result is that messages delete in the Teams client after 30 days but continue to be retained via litigation hold. Is there any way to have a mailbox placed in litigation hold AND exclude Teams messages from those settings or is it all or nothing? Thanks for your help.
