While trying to scan PowerBI from Azure Purview after following the steps up as provided in this link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-in/azure/purview/register-scan-power-bi-tenant#associate-the-security-group-with-the-tenant we are facing the below error. All permissions have been provided as per the documentation, both PowerBI and Purview are in the same tenant.

"Error: (9512) ErrorCode:(3871) Failed to enable the PowerBI administrator API to fetch basic metadata and lineage."

Can you please help to resolve this?

    Hi @viji.e , @Justin Tran ,

I have a confirmation from product team that the fix for this issue has been rolled out to all regions and you shouldn't notice the above issue if everything is configured correctly according to the steps mentioned in the public document: https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/purview/register-scan-power-bi-tenant#associate-the-security-group-with-the-tenant.

Note: Please make sure to enable PowerBI admin API from PBI portal.

Hope this helps. Do let us know how it goes.

I'm also stuck with the problem. I make sure that API Admin had been enabled
