Why do I suddenly have to log in with my MS account

Hi all,

Posting this on another account, since I cannot get into my own at the moment.
My computer out of the blue is asking for a password instead of my normal pin code. As far as I can tell it suddenly wants me to log in to my Microsoft Account. Suddenly as in, I logged in as always normally, locked it, and after dinner, it needs said password.
The option to log in as another user is not there.

All my information is on that computer. I use a password vault, but I need to get on that computer first.
So if anyone could tell me how I can log in normally again, it would solve this all together.

Barring that, there is the option for forgot password (since it is on the vault.. on that computer). Doing that, it helpfully wants to send me a recovery mail, to my old email address. The one that I replaced about a year ago. I can get into my regular one, but it does not show up as an option.
Funnily enough, if I try to use the account recovery, I cannot use that email, because it says it is already used as an alias for my account. Yet I cannot get the system to just send me the mail there!
Yes, slightly frustrated here. Because I am out of normal options, which should not happen in this day of age. Of course I could access my old email, with the password..... that is stored in the vault at that same computer! (no, at this time, I cannot access the vault anywhere else)

I have used the recovery form, but I did not have much in the way of recovery information, so I am hoping that will help, but it can take a while, and it may not even be enough. Since I need the computer for work in these Corona times, I am indeed frustrated to be locked out of my own computer.

cheers for all even for reading this, and if anyone could help out that would be awesome,
Rob

According to your description, the most important thing is entering system firstly.
So just enter your Microsoft account’s password, what happened? It is the most direct method.
If you forget the password of Microsoft password, go here to Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password

If you can’t get the password of your Microsoft account, can you have other account for login?
If you don’t have other account for login, you need to restore system to a previous time point in WinRE.
Also check this case for some ideas.

We all know the best security is when only one person has the key to access a place or items. But I guess its okay to have a whole corporation know your password with the ability to change it as they see fit. When that is a major security risk because all it takes is one on those employees to spill the beans.

Basically one of their employees changing it, you asking for help. Then the one that comes to help and either blaming you for it or is also saying that is not right.
